Microneedling with PRP – During your microneedling treatment, your own platelet rich plasma (PRP) is applied to encourage collagen production and cell reproduction. The addition of PRP will make your treatment more effective and help skin tissue repair itself.
What Can Microneedling Be Used to Treat?
Microneedling can be used to treat scars, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and oversized pores. It can also help with achieving firmer skin and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, microneedling improves the appearance of stretch marks and heals sun damage. This is all due to the increased collagen production from the controlled injuries created by the microneedles.
How to Prepare for a Microneedling Session
During your consultation, we will provide instructions to help prepare your skin for a microneedling session. You may be asked to avoid skin exfoliation, retinols, and topical antibiotics for 48 hours before the treatment. This will prevent unwanted skin damage from the microneedling process.
Protect your skin from direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least five days before your session. Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to avoid hyperpigmentation, sunburn, and early onset of wrinkles and fine lines.
Schedule waxing or any other hair-removal treatments for 5-7 days before your microneedling session, and do not shave on the day of your session to avoid skin irritation.
